EA-SAT
quick-start.
Add analog color — from sheen to grit — with one drive knob.
4 steps · every control name is the real one · Saturation
01
Pick the machine
MODE TUBE leads with even harmonics (warmth), TAPE with odd (glue and compression feel), CONSOLE with a grittier odd-order bite.
02
Set DRIVE
Push DRIVE until you hear the colour, then back off one notch. The path runs oversampled — what you add is harmonics, never digital fizz.
03
Shape with TONE
TONE tilts the coloured signal from DARK to BRIGHT — darker to sit saturation into a mix, brighter to read as excitement.
04
Blend with MIX
MIX is loudness-compensated, so parallel blending is honest: 30–50% adds density without the louder-is-better illusion. OUT trims the final level.
Pro moves
Once it's working.
- Same source, three modes, matched DRIVE — learn each signature once and you'll pick by name forever after.
- TAPE at low DRIVE on a full mix is the classic 'ran it through a machine' finishing move; the rear panel's OUTPUT STAGE and AUTO CEILING keep it from clipping the bus.
