Why it exists
Boost the lows with a modern EQ and the mud comes with the weight. The sixty-year-old answer is the passive trick: boost and cut the same shelf at once, and the curve grows a resonant lift with a tightening dip right above it.
EA-PQ models the passive network, the tube gain stage and the iron — so the trick works the way the faceplate promises. High boost is a bell with a BANDWIDTH knob: wide for sheen, narrow for presence. Stepped controls make every move recallable.
