OVERSEER
mix intelligence conductorThe conductor for your Echelon rack. OVERSEER listens across every instance in your session and suggests — then applies — the moves a mix engineer would make.

- Cross-plugin mix intelligence
- One-click APPLY with undo ledger
- Listens to 50+ Echelon publishers
- Session-wide gain staging
- Give it a real session first — 8 or more Echelon plugins across different tracks. Overseer only gets to show off when there's a rack to conduct; with one plugin loaded there's nothing for it to do. Then open it and tell us what you think of the suggestions.
- Does it see everything? Count what's in your session against what the mesh panel lists — a full house is the moment this plugin makes sense.
- APPLY, then undo. The move should land on exactly the plugin it named, and undo should put it all back. Tell us if the suggestion was one you'd have made yourself.
- Add and remove plugins while Overseer is open — it should keep up live.
Learn OVERSEER
QUICK-START · 7 MINSee your whole session the way an engineer hears it, then apply and undo real cross-plugin fixes.
- 01
Put it on the master
Insert OVERSEER on the master bus and press play. Every Echelon plugin in the session wakes up and starts publishing spectrum, level and gain reduction to the mesh — lanes appear within a couple of seconds, no routing to configure.
- 02
Name your tracks
Name tracks in the DAW — KICK, 808, LEAD VOX — and the names and colours flow through to the lanes. The vocal-protection logic keys off words like VOX, LEAD and HOOK, so naming isn't cosmetic.
- 03
Read the lanes
Each lane is one publishing plugin, loudest first: a 30-band spectrum with RED TINT where that track collides with another, live GR readouts from the dynamics plugins, and a 60-second COLLISION LOAD heat ribbon. Set SENSITIVITY for how small an overlap counts.
- 04
Check Session Health
The MIX HEALTH score weights Separation 35% / Balance 30% / Dynamics 20% / Headroom 15%, with SEP / BAL / DYN / HR shown individually. Press SNAP A before you fix anything so you have a before.
- 05
APPLY a fix
Suggestion cards with APPLY execute the fix on a plugin already on that track: a dynamic EQ cut in Contour or SCULPT, a sidechain-keyed duck, or an output trim capped at ±3 dB. The % chip shows how much of the last minute the problem was present.
- 06
Verify with the ledger
Every move lands in the APPLIED MOVES ledger with an UNDO that reverses the exact change — and both survive saving and reloading. SNAP B after your fixes and hover the delta for the per-category receipt.
- FREEZE holds the analysis still so you can read it while the track plays — audio is never affected; OVERSEER is a bit-transparent passthrough.
- A card showing NO RECEIVER means nothing on that track is listening — add an Echelon EQ or dynamics plugin there and retry.
- The over-compression watchdog is advice-only by design: thresholds are taste, levels are arithmetic.
- REPORT exports a self-contained HTML session report (health, before/after, applied moves) to Documents/Echelon Audio/Reports — print it to PDF for the client.
